3.01 If The Wheel Is Fixed
Energy from a dimensional tunnel takes control of two crewmembers.
Episode Synopsis
Tyr and Beka have disappeared into the dimensional tunnel. Dylan and the Andromeda crew attempt to open the tunnel in hopes of rescuing their crewmates. They fail and the tunnel closes trapping Tyr and Beka.
Dylan takes off in the Maru to re-create the scenario in which Tyr and Beka disappeared. A wave of space detritus is headed where the dimensional tunnel once was, however the Maru’s position may cause it to get sucked in amidst all the residue. The Andromeda Ascendant rescues the Maru by moving between the residue and the Maru. After arriving safely back to the Andromeda, Dylan notices the dimensional tunnel opening up. The ship is being sucked into it. As the Andromeda continues to fight the force pulling them into the tunnel, Beka and Tyr reappear and both seem to be okay except for Tyr’s bone blades. The ship continues to struggle against the pulsing power of the dimensional tunnel. Beka impatiently jumps into the slipstream pilot’s console and slams the ship into slipstream drive. This causes the Andromeda to fall back and approach the tunnel at maximum speed. Dylan pulls Beka from the console and steps in her place, releasing the ship from the force.
The Andromeda has mysteriously gone into Maintenance Mode, Dylan orders the crew to deck 11 where they’ll be safe from deadly decontamination gas. Tyr is the only one who doesn’t show up at the deck. Dylan questions Tyr’s ability to move through the corridor without being affected by the fumes and then realizes the disinfectant is fake.
Beka and Trance leave in the Maru and Beka navigates them very close to the Andromeda.
Back on Andromeda, Rommie finds that the same energy streams that were found in the dimensional tunnel match up exactly with Tyr and Beka’s nervous system. Dylan suspects that something is controlling both Tyr and Beka.
Meanwhile, Tyr has immobilized Rommie in order to take over the ship and kill Dylan. Tyr commands Rommie to kill Dylan by depressurizing the Command Deck.
Back on the Maru, Beka immobilizes Trance and fires rockets at the Andromeda pushing the ship towards the dimensional tunnel.
Dylan surprises Tyr by dropping in on him through a grate . As they battle for the command of the ship, Tyr mysteriously becomes invisible. As they continue to fight Harper succeeds in cutting off the rays from the tunnel releasing both Tyr and Beka. Later, Tyr has no recollection of what has happened.
The ship is now fully operational and new adventures await Dylan and the crew of Andromeda.
